They called me this morning at 8:37AM. I'd just gotten to sleep at 6. WTF?? What is WITH their propensity to call at in the 8AM HOUR???
I thought the DNC hours - even for BOGUS charities such as this one - were NINE (9) AM to EIGHT (8) PM.
I will NEVER Give to ANY "Charity" - NO MATTER HOW SYMPATHETIC 'S O U N D I N G' the name might be - who COLD CALLS me and ESPECIALLY who calls an awakens me.
Some of us have different 'schedules' than the norm.
Your point is valid, HOWEVER, you will note that "Children's Cancer Recovery Fund" is LOCATED in PENNSYLVANIA and THIS number is SUPPOSEDLY coming from the BOSTON, MA area.
There IS a children's cancer charity called "The Jimmy Fund" but its operated out of DANA FARBER INSTITUTE, uses a "617" area code and had a four star Charity Navigator rating. I've NEVER been cold called directly by the Jimmy Fund; they use MAILINGS and local collectings (grocery stores, store counter canisters, etc.) I don't believe they would start at 8AM.
I HIGHLY SUSPECT THIS so called "CHARITY" of "CHILDREN'S CANCE" [sic] is JUST A SCAM and nothing more. By the way, they DID NOT leave a message this morning on the machine (@8:37AM) when they awoke me but I REFUSED to answer.
Like most people, I'm on the DNC List BECAUSE I DON"T WANT THESE CALLS! I will NEVER donate to **ANY** Charity - no matter HOW "legit" or "good" you are if you COLD CALL ME - "Legal" or not by the DNC Rules. ANY Charity that VIOLATES the SANCTITY of my home is BOGUS as far as I'm concerned.
Noticed on my Call Log (yes, i keep a WRITTEN RECORD of EACH and EVERY one of these SCUMBALL CALLS) that:
Last week - on Thursday, March 21, at 11:57AM I got a call from "857-444-5592";
Caller ID said "Political Call".
Even though this number is slightly different, its OBVIOUS to me they are both coming from the SAME, PROBABLY ILLEGAL, Call Center; PROBABLY USING SPOOFED NUMBERS.
So, these ARE NOT "CHARITIES" or "SURVEY TAKERS". They are FOR PROFIT CALL CENTERS and they are looking for ANY **EXCUSE** (FAKE surveys, FAKE Charities) to get around the DNC List regulations and then TRY AND GET FINANCIAL/PERSONAL INFO on you to STEAL YOUR MONEY and/or YOUR IDENTITY.
I got a call from these people at 8:00 a.m. The nerve! Mentioned my mother's name on voicemail by her first name. I don't know who they are, but they somehow need to be stopped.
