This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number

what these people are doing is super illegal, i work in a compliant office and one of them called a friend / co worker about a debt from 2006 said they were going to file CRIMINAL charges, luckily we live in a single party consent state so we recorded both calls with this company, their messages violate fdcpa, no mini miranda on inbound call violates fdcpa, claiming a lawsuit on a debt out of statute of limitations violates fdcpa, they gave us an address of po boc 12360 in lexington ky, we are currently filing complaints withe the AG office as well as FTC,
call them, ask for address and tell them to CEASE AND DESIST all calls, stating that this call is being recorded and this statement is to be taken as a verbal CEASE AND DESIST until the official paperwork comes in, any calls following that will make them eligible for a 1000$ lawsuit per call.
I received a call from this number I did not answer. A gentleman left a voicemail message indicating he was legatation services and that if I did not call back thay assumed I was refusing counsel and that I needed to call back today about a pending case I have with them. This is insane. They are calling from KY!
