Repeated calls, various numbers from "Portfolio Recovery", but this number comes across as "KENTUCKY". No idea what they want. They call repeatedly under numbers that trace back to this same alleged company, but never leave a message. We do not answer any calls we do not know. That is, in our opinion, what answer machines/services are for and a legitimate company/party with a legitimate need to communicate information, would indeed leave a legitimate message. Period.
This is the 7th phone number they are calling from since the 1st of March. They are trying to collect $79.99 on an old cell phone account I had with AT&T over seven years ago. AT&T says they do not show I owed them any money. This company is nothing but a huge SCAMMER. If it was not such a hassle, I would sue them for harassment. BEWARE companies like this that scam people into paying money they really do not owe!!
More from this slimey company. Have been harassed by them going back many years about debts incurred by people with similar names(slightly). Until a few years back it was always by mail. Iwould call them and give part of my social security number ( I would never do that again) . Then the demands would stop temporarily, apparently until the fired one incompetent and replaced it with another. When I would call them I would demand to speak to a manager. I had one manager tell me he certainly didnt want me to pay a debt that wasnt mine. I told him I knew he didnt care where the money came from as long as he got his cut. These people do use many different phone numbers.
Do not ever pay one cent to these illegal debt collectors. They have been sued by the federal government and have had to pay fines. Their tactic is criminal and they violate fair debt collection laws. Ignore and block their calls.
