A woman named Tandi Jones called and asked if she could speak to the CEO/Owner. As he was unavailable, she left a message "Regarding doing business with the Federal Government on a 1 year NO BID contract." She also made sure to ask if we were a 'small business' which we are. It sounded unofficial and while I took the message from Tandi, I crumpled it up and threw it away after I hung up from her. She did not mention (conveniently) what company she was representing.
8:30AM ~ I received the first call out of the box today, from this comnpany. Angela Stein introduced herself as a representative of a federal program, offering government contracts to small businesses...which she asked me to verify that we do qualify under SBA guidelines. She wanted to speak to our CEO/President, only. When informed that he was not available, Angela went on to advise that this is a 1-yr, no-bid, federal program. Since our product does not have much to do with anything other than how government officials spend their free time, I was more than a little, skeptical. Upon perusal of the callback number, I was not surprised when I stumbled onto this site...
Happy Thanksgiving to all the legitimate, hard-working people who read this. Realizing this was a scam before getting my employer involved, is just one more thing to be thankful for!!
I also got the same exact call from Tandi Jones. She told me they handle Gov. bids/contracts in CT and when I told her I was already involved with state gov. bids she told me that couldn't be possible because they are the only company who deals in government contracts....are you kidding me?!
Cassandra Horn called and left this number. She asked to speak with the person handeling the government contracting, I told her that was me, Director of Business Development, she said she could only speak with the principal. I took a message and then looked up the phone number. The GSA would never solicit future vendors so please ignore this scam.
I received a call from Cassandra Horn as well. She asked to speak to the owner or president about a one-year bid program, and I told her that I could help her with that, and she said that she could only speak to the owner or president of the company. He was out, so she left this number for him to call her back at. He just tried to call the number and told me he got what sounded like an old-fashioned answering machine saying it was a place called Federal Supplies or something like that. He didn't leave a message as it didn't sound like a legitimate business.
