You can report credit reporters who are being rude and stuff....and you (or the person they're looking for) may be able to sue them.
I successfully sued a collections guy who was rude, broke many laws, including speaking to my 16 year old daughter at the time, not to mention other individuals, who also continued to call me at work when I asked him not to (I tape recorded his voice mails). Anyway I sued the company and was awarded $37,000 plus the debt written off.
Look in your phone book under Attorneys protecting consumers from collection harassment and abusive debt collection.
Consumer Recovery Associates, not license to operate in Ohio, (all confirmed) Court Ordered to discontinue collection in the state of Arizona. Most of their phone numbers are now disconnected, they do business as CRA, 2697 International Pkwy #4, 270, Virginia Beach, VA 23452, Compliance Officer is Mr. Kalin Scott, Compliance Officer or Vice President ? @ 757-214-9186 < this is a phone number directly to him according to reliable sources. 757-368-8331 is another working phone number, they are shutting down their phone numbers as we speak. I had someone to call him and he was very rude, Mr. Scott, threatening to sue and to cease and desist, not to call him, well, their company called a client's phone number with negative mannerism and all we wanted was contact information in order to write them a letter. He would not cooperate, he would not comply with what was needed, and they are passed due with sending us or our clients a written notice. All he would do when I called to ask him for another person to talk to, was say I am not giving you anything, and don't call here anymore. We faxed to them a signed consent and release form to them requesting that they send a written notice, the client, confirmed to them that she was who they were trying to reach and demanded a written notice to be sent and the began arguing and hung up the phone. We called back to attempt to obtain some type of contact information, but this company is not cooperating. So should their be any more information to inform you regarding this company, we will. Got a call from out of state # 864-569-0719 left message stating to "answer the phone b*tch. Now was rrady to call back and go off at the guy that left the message. Don't know who was looking for didn't state name or reason for call. A bunch of pansies
When these people call, answer the phone by saying, "Thank you for calling Dominos, can I take your order" Or something to that effect. Target, Walmart, Best Buy, How about, "Thank you for calling Home Depot, how can I direct your call" They will just hang up and take your name off of their list. If they don't just hang up and start asking questions, stick with your story, keep asking how can I help you or direct your call.
