Got a call today from this number. They caught me in the middle of cleaning so I didn't have a pen and paper handy to write down the number I'm suppose to call. The recorded message said that it was in attempt to collect a debt. I don't have any debt or atleast not any I'm not current on paying! So, I hit #1 to be connected directly to a "Customer Service Agent" and the phone went dead. My caller ID said it was from Texarkana TX?
Does anyone have any idea what kind of debt they are trying to collect for?

I receieved calls from 870-216-4090 twice a day for a week. They are automated w/no option other than to agree you are the person they are requesting or unavailable. I pushed ZERO instead and after a pause it gave me the number 866-302-0858 and an acct. number to reference.
I immediately called back and got a person at "West Asset Company" who refused to tell me what the company does and refused to get me a manager. When I put "officer X" on the phone, suddenly I got a manager. I gave her my phone number which in their systems was a Jose X and she supposedly removed it from their data banks. Her only explanation of their business was "we handle personal matters for companies". They are extremely rude and guarded--but hopefully this resolves the issue or a file a police complaint of harrassment.
Calls come from this number about 5 x's a day. I called back and was told it was West Asset Management. Undoubtedly a collection agency, I told them they had the wrong number and was then told they would remove me from thier list.
I have received 4 calls from them today the last was at about 6pm and i got three yesterday. I never pick up the phone if i don't recognize the caller i.d I have no idea who this is or what they want. but I am very tired of these calls. they never leave a message and the ONE time i did pick up the phone they said nothing. I registered my number with the national do not call registry in April. I guess that doesn't matter to them.
Just call them "West Asset Management" at 888-433-2886. You will get a real person who will remove you from the list. I received about 4 calls from them for someone else on my cell phone. They said they would remove my number from the list within 24 hours.
BTW - this information is in an earlier post on this board. I guess people don't have time to read anymore.
