Received a message from a Mr. Davis from the Fraud Division did not say the name of the Company he ask me call him back immediately or talk to one of his representatives about the paperwork he send me because I or my attorney did not repsond not sure what they want -- but not returning any calls until I find more out about this. Received the same message last week from a number of 872-484-0004
Total scam. Check fraud is a crime. If you were suspected of that crime you'd have already been interviewed by members of law enforcement on a face to face basis. In any event, if you had written a bad check the bank would be the first to notify by letter. You'd have a paper trail. Debt collectors have nothing to do with bank fraud or any other crime and have no influence on the criminal justice system. Being in debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. This is basically an attempt to scare some money out of you. Don't fall for it.
Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.
If they are bothering you, report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.) The same goes for endless telephone harassment
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking), the only thing they understand.
Total scam. Only public prosecutors file charges. Debt collectors cannot file any charges and have no influence on the criminal justice system. Being in ordinary civil debt is NOT a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. Ignore and block these calls.
Mr Davis/ "Fraud Division" Scam
This "Mr Davis" persona calls from a series of numbers. Usually says he’s with the “Fraud Division”. All his calls claim some debt or another and threaten arrest. Often impersonates law enforcement and says he’s going to “turn over your case” to the local authorities. Absolute hogwash. Being in debt is NOT a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. We don't have debtors prisons in the US.
Ignore and block these calls. Debt collectors have absolutely no influence or connection with law enforcement. Or any public prosecutor.

So, it looks like you are all well on the way to positively identifying this crook. If I were receiving calls on this one I'd seriously consider getting a lawyer and suing. There are tons of them that will do it for a percentage of the take. Take copious, detailed notes, record conversations if legal in your area, etc.
Some steps to get the Id:
Contact the postmaster for the P.O. box. They will often give the info after you fill out a form. Occasionally, you'll need a subpoena. Easy enough if you're suing anyway. (google "Who owns a P.O. box" or let your lawyer do it) This phone number is currently hosted by Vonage. You can subpoena the owner info from them as well (or let your lawyer do it): https://support.vonage.com/app/answers/detail ... civil-subpoenas If they've actually performed bank transactions on your account, the you have what a lawyer needs to get to them.
Remember to share when you get positive info :)
