Nine o'clock at night, an Indian accent man calls, says my computer has been hacked and he is calling from Microsoft ..... I said " I haven't used my computer in weeks" he says precisely".......what a scam!!! I hung up on the idiot. I guess we have to spread the word around now.
Called several times. I finally answered and a man with a heavy accent told me he was from Microsoft and my computer had a virus. I told him to please stop calling and he began swearing at me.
I received a call from 878-286-0398 on my cell phone while at work. I could tell it was a robocall/telemarketer because of the delay in them speaking when I answered. The party had a very thick Indian accent - though he sounded like he was trying to speak English, I couldn't understand him. I insisted he put me on a do not call list but he continued talking, but even faster. I repeated my request and told him I would also be filing a complaint with the police, which I did as soon as I hung up. Background noise sounded like several other people talking, as would be common in a call center. I'm a journalist and fully aware of scams that originate through such methods as calls like this one. DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION AND INSIST ON BEING PLACED ON A DO NOT CALL LIST. It could save you a lot of stress and financial woes.
I think this may have something to do with my responding online for "looking for work." A complete pain in the behind!!!! Also 202-677-9939 and 202-666-4700. First of all, I would never answer a number that starts with 666. That is just ridiculous. I wish these hounds/clowns would get in trouble with the FCC or somebody?
