More Indiana scammers. The funny thing is if you fall for this charade then you will be hacked so technically they are right. What kind of fool would fall for this garbage seriously.
I just received a call from this number. The gentleman with an Indian accent was very difficult to understand. I also was told my computer was being hacked. When he could tell me what city in Pennsylvania he was in I quicky told himthat I am related to a senior VP at Microsoft and know for a fact that they do not contact customers he hung up. Next time this guy calls back try this, ask him to give you his credit card information so that you can charge him for your time that he is waqsting. I bet the line will go dead in a heartbeat.
Just got a call from this number and asked if it was a scam. The caller said "no, this is not a scum mum, it is for real and your computer is being used for criminal activity right now. Let me take over your computer so I can show you." I thanked her for the warning and said I'd call microsoft myself to confirm the problem. She said there was no time and I needed to act quickly. I hung up and did a search on the phone number and found all these comments. Thank you all for posting and confirming this is just a scam. My computer has been offline for months.
Had an Indian sounding guy call me sayinghe worked for Microsoft and my computer was getting hacked. Told him that was funny because it hasn't even been plugged in for a month. Asked him how he got my number. Said that i left the information with the store i purchased it from. Told him he was wrong since i purchased it from a pawn shop two years ago and only recently got this phone number. Then i asked him if i apparently left my information as the store, then surely he would know my name. He said yes and said it was something that started with a J. I laughed and told him no. He started to give me my apparent email address. Once again i laughed and told him he was wrong. Needless to say he knew he wasn't getting anything from me and hung up.
