I ventured onto an online health insurance quote site. The company is called 'Affordable-Health-Insurance-Plans.org'. They asked for my info, and then refered me onto another site. The second site was what I needed. I ended up purchasing insurance through the company they recommended. But then it got weird: I got a call from this number twice. I called it back, and a young, urban lady asked that I had been inquiring about online health insurance. I replied I had and then she transfered me to some nasaly guy who did not give a name. He asked my height and weight and when I told him, immediately started referring to other health insurance providers. I informed him that I had just gone with one, and he said that they would reject me and that I needed to get another insurance company before the rejection was made official. I thought this was odd. He told me my weight was a problem. (I am 6'6 and 330lbs weightlifter, I am quite healthy). I tried to explain this to him, but he got rude and shut me down saying that the company goes by stats and if I am rejected, no other insurance company would touch me for 12 months and that I needed to go with a provider now. It was a blatent push scam. When I informed him that I would wait to see what the other company said, he informed me that he would be taking my call in twelve months to tell me so after I had been rejected. He then hung up on me!
I called back, and the same woman answered. I asked to speak with the gentleman again and she would not tell me his name, but placed me on hold... for ten minutes. I hung up, called back and got a supervisor by the name of Richard Emanuel. He said that despite me willing to give him my name and number and only have 20 employees on the floor, he would have to have an IT guy call me back tomorrow with who it was I talked to. Then nothing else to offer. I said not to worry about it, I would handle it myself. Thus...this.
This party continues to call every day and whenever we do answer, there is no one on the other end. Please help us by informing them to leave us alone. Thank you.
