Look, the vast majority of the "clothing pickup" efforts are nothing but scams and have nothing to do with any charity.

Give your old stuff to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

I have requested they not call me on 901-624-8866.  Now they are calling on my business line. 901-624-6655 and my fax line 901-624-1199.  It is about 2 calls per day per line.  Please stop this harassment.  I have do not solicit numbers and your disrespect of my privacy stops me from ever donating to you.

Way too many of these "we want your old stuff" operations have sprung up and most are to provide income for the operator under the guise of being a charity.

These clowns in Memphis are relentless and are a real pain in the A$$. Legitimate charities don't call you several times a day for weeks on end.

I have received many calls from them over the last year.  I reported them to the Memphis Better Business Bureau.  In the past this approach has solved the problem.  I recommend everyone file a complaint. The website is:

I just took a look at the Memphis NAMI 990 and must report not a single penny of their funds went to help anyone with mental health problem.

Almost all of the revenues went to Salary, Taxes and Benefits, Office Expense and $28,000 to "Dental Expenses". <-- Guess someone got a new grill!

In other words, all these Memphis NAMI critters are doing is helping themselves, and not any retarded folks.
