I received 2 voice mail messages from a man named Andrew, at this number. His phone number is 904-672-1023, ext. 245. The caller indicated that they are from the offices of HP Capital. They also indicated that some type of action is being taken against me, in the city where I live. They want me to call and give them my statement immediately, because I've never dealt with this type of action before. I think this is a bogus call, from a bill collector, trying to imtimidate me, or whoever else they call, by scaring someone into thinking that some "action" is being taken against them. They don't go into specifics, most likely because there really isn't action action. It's also interesting to note that these type of companies never put anything in writing. If some "action" was pending, wouldn't they have sent me a letter first? This is definately an illegal practice, under the Fair Debt Collections Act. I checked the business license bureau in Florida, as well as the Better Business Bureau, and I can't find any informaiton on this company. Hummmm, sounds fishy to me. Be careful with this one. I have not returned those calls, nor do I intend to.
I got the exact same call this a.m., from H&P Capital, but it was related to a payday loan. I told them that I would have my attorney to call them. They told me that they can not deal with me any longer and must deal directly with my atty. They thought I would hesitate when they asked me my attorney's name, but when I didn't they said what does he represent you on, I responded "EVERYTHING." They wouldn't go into specifics about the action and when I pressed them on it, they still said you dealt with Web PayDay, etc. In Virginia, it is illegal for them to bring or threaten criminal action on Pay Day loans.
I got the same call from 904-672-1023 threatening legal action but did not tell me what for they even go as far as wishing me "good luck" as they hung up the call....
LOL I got that same condecinding person as well GOOD LUCK at the end of the message. Please so obvious that it was a collection agency. These people are worst than layers in my opinion. Total garbage.
