got a call from 904-672-1023 i took a message.. said they needed a statement.. in Cali the laws regarding payday loans are different and companies have been sued and lost because of the above tactics...if you're in cali... look up the laws and email the corporate office of the payday loan company if they do not stop with threats of jail etc. they will be sued. They can't call your job, threaten with jail, court etc. For payday loans they can only get the loan amount and returned check fees.
I got a call this morning from a guy looking for my friend, I asked if he would know what the call was regarding the man stated that "this is a legal matter with Studio City California. I told the man that this is my private cell phone and that I was not the person he was looking for, and to not call me again. He told me to back off and listen. I hung up on him. A few minutes later another call came from the same number this time Marcus Cannon was on the phone he left a message for my friend and finished it again with "I wish you good luck, you are going to need it". I called back and told Marcus to not call my phone again, he told me I was funny, and I hung up again. I called him again threatening legal action, he kept speaking over me and was very rude, I told him I would hang up if he would not let me speak, he said he did not care. One last time I told him to not call my phone, he has no business with me so do not harass me. A very rude A-hole!
My sister rceived a Call From Mr. Eric Ross (she was listed as a reference on the payday loan) Same message same rant- she called me and I called the
number- the way they work is they want you to call back and if you are hard to track down they want you to leave a number for them to call later-
the different names they leave are codes for who gets the commision on the recovery of funds. The other information is correct- they cannot take you to jail- it is a civil matter-Also in court they would need to prove to the judge that they contacted you by mail or process server.(certified mail-you have to sign for it) yes these are scare tactics- if they do not tell you the creditor or company you owe-that is not legal!!!!!!!!!
