GE MONEY (Said his name was "Josh, Operator N. LR3" IS NOT JUST CALLING CREDIT CUSTOMERS! THEY ARE TELEMARKETING THEIR CREDIT CARDS! THEY ARE USING TRICKS TO TRY TO AVOID THE "DO NOT CALL LIST REQUIREMENTS BY USING FRAUDULENT TACTICS LIKE CALLING WITH COMPUTERIZED UNKNOWN NUMBERS, TO KEEP UP WITH PHONE NUMBERS THAT HAVE A RECEIVING LIVE CONTACT SO THEY CAN THEN CALL YOU BACK WITH THEIR TELEMARKETING MESSAGE! THIS IS AN ILLEGAL TACTICS THAT THEY ARE USING SO EVERYONE THAT ARE RECEIVING CALLS FROM THEM SHOULD CALL THE FCC TOLL FREE AT: (1-888-225-5322)

I got a call from a woman claiming to be with Visa saying that my identity has been stolen. She gave me some information and a lot of overacting in an attempt to make me nervous and have me answer questions. I avoided giving her any information and asked if there was a number I may call her back at. The 866 number she gave me was a dead end. When I contacted Visa directly they informed me that fraudulent charges were being made on my card for the last several days. I immediately called FTC to report fraud (http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm). They suggested I file a police report as well.

ANYONE WHO GETS A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER SHOULD NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION AND SHOULD REPORT THIS NUMBER. NOTHING WILL BE DONE TO THESE PEOPLE UNLESS THEY GET ENOUGH REPORTS!

I got a call today, Decemeber 10. 2012, at 3:52pm from a guy calling himself "Ryan" at this number:       937-534-2085  "Ryan" claimed to be calling on behalf of Texaco / Chevron and insisted that my husband's credit was being used fraudulently and that he (with a great sense of urgency) "must speak with _____ ( my husband) at once to straighten things out and prevent further fraudulent charges."  I told him we don't have a Texaco / Chevron account and never have.  I also told him we had no interest in buying anything, that we are on all DO NOT CALL lists and that he would not succeed in even getting me to confirm my husband's legal name, much less any other personal information like SSN's or CC #'s and that whatever his scam was, he was wasting his time on us.  He then went into high gear insisting that he was not interested in selling us anything and that this was a call initiated to PROTECT us...PROTECT our credit...PREVENT us from being fraudulently charged under my husband's SSN.  To this, I replied that we have LifeLock and that they had not reported anything suspicious / fraudulent.  Still this "Ryan" went on and on (and on and on).  Finally I said, Im going to call Lifelock, then Im going to call my bank, then Im going to call my husband, and then I would like to call you back.  What number should I use?  He then gave me this number, and claimed it went directly to his desk:  855-511-8774 .   I cautioned him that if this was a scam, I'd be reporting it to every possible authority and that my next stop would be checking the number the call originated from.  Even then, this "Ryan" kept insisting he was legitimately concerned for the fraudulent activity we'd been the victim's of and that he'd wait for me to call him back.  And I did call him back, about 15 min. later, after Lifelock and my bank told me all was well, after I'd Googled "937-534-208 scam" and after I'd read all the scam information from this site and several others.  Oh yes, I called him back alright.  And when "Ryan" answered the phone, the police whistle I blew into the receiver probably shattered his eardrum....one can hope.  I then blocked that number from ever being able to call me again and reaffirmed once and for all, that "Unknown Caller" numbers are NEVER worth answering.

I recd a call on my cell from this place today. No message left. I tried to call back but only got a voice recording to call the number on the back of my card (? what card?) or to call back the number that was left on the message...they did not leave a message. I have tried several times to reach someone, but cant get an answer.

I got a call from this number asking me to call the Fraud Department of my credit card company. I called the number they left and was told that someone had charged an inordinate amount of money at a store I would never buy from in a city I had not been near in 15 years. They shut down the card and will send me a new one.

Because of all your ranting about this being a fraudulent call, I called my credit card company's bank and asked them to verify the number I had been told to call. It is a valid number for fraud prevention. This was a legitimate call. I have not been scammed by these people which is more than I can say for those making comments to the contrary.
