I've just received a call from this number, a gentleman called himself Mike said that someone had applied for JC Penney and American Eagle credit card using my name. He wanted to verify if it was me (it wasn't). Advised me to put a fraud alert.
it's actually a legit number. Also just got a call from this number this morning about my credit card being used. I called the number that is on the back of my credit card to verify that who ever called from this number is associated with them and it actually is.
I missed a legitimate call from this number and they left a message. Instead of calling the number they provided on the voice mail I called my credit card company directly and learned my credit card had an evil twin buying fun stuff on the other side of the country.

They did not leave a message. After reading other information on this number, I called my credit card company to verify my account information. It was a legitimate call. It is a new account and they wanted to verify that I had made the purchase. They actually had put a stop to the account until they could verify my information. I was told a letter would also be sent out to me. I still would not have answered the call. Glad they have these websites to check things out. So I would advise you to just contact your credit card company yourself if you should get a call.
