We have been getting these stupid calls for some time now. Last year they were calling for my brother in law who lives in another state!! Claiming they had a warrant. Then from another number, tried claiming I needed to contact them for a "serious matter". never called. A friend in the PD told us to not even speak to these scum as they are trying to get our info for identity theft! And now today, I get a third call for my husband with an identical claim that he needs to have his legal representative or himself call this Sarasota Fl number!! 941-251-8163

How are you tying this in to RG financial? RG has a PO box in Georgia. Also many DC's use PO boxes and the scammer usually use UPS store or the equivalent. So i would be interested to hear how you have these tied together.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

called from 423-708-3449, called back and answered the phone, may I help you. I just hung up. I realized then it was probably a scam. First of all, if you owe a debt, the company you owe the debt to will contact you, identify themselves, and will try to resolve without going to a third party.
They call from a Florida number of 239-307-5129. They leave a call back number of 941-251-8163. I know I do not owe money & I have blocked them from my phone. I have also gotten calls on my work mobile from them. I would answer the call & hang up immediately. It doesn't give the call the chance to connect, so it makes them think the number doesn't work. So sick of these bottom feeders. Every few months a new company surfaces. I got scammed out of $250 in February & am so angry at myself for it. Don't let it happen to you!!
