Claimed they were Tech Support and that we had a problem with our computer. This scam was identified on our local news in Toronto. They put you on a website, gain access to your machine, put on a virus and then charge you to get it off. Also other scam is that you give them remote access and they steal personal info from your machine. They also can put on keyloggers in order to access your on-line banking etc. They got frustrated and hung on when I kept asking them questions.

I just got a call from this number too.........I kept asking them for info...and they wanted me to type in: "www.amyy.com"......and they would fix my computer. They claimed to be in Texas..... but both the people I spoke to, had east indian accents....not American of any kind!! I then asked them what number I could reach them at, and & that I would call them back, and they wanted to know when I was going to call...I said I wasn't sure.....they hen gave ph#713-559-1797, which is a number for a website: www.teche-support.com, but they didnt call me from that number at all - because I checked the last number dialed !!!!!!! They kept saying that my computer was going to crash, and that it was" important to fix it right away"..... it sounded just too suspicious... so I hung up wiithout doing anything.
I just got this too. Said i wasn't Computer savvy enough to see that my computer was being hacked as we speak. He could see it happening on his end and needed me to give him access to my computer. "What are they doing and how did they get in?" I asked? "You are runing Windows 7 and they entered through a port not closed by Microsoft yet", he replied. I Laughed!!! "Wrong!!!" I told him and hung up. I run a Mac. Had fun with the poor man up until then.
