Claimed they were Tech Support and that we had a problem with our computer. This scam was identified on our local news in Toronto. They put you on a website, gain access to your machine, put on a virus and then charge you to get it off. Also other scam is that you give them remote access and they steal personal info from your machine. They also can put on keyloggers in order to access your on-line banking etc. They got frustrated and hung on when I kept asking them questions.
Same here, they claimed to be receiving error messages concerning our computer - when I said "I think I'll fix my computer problems by myself" they hung up pretty quickly. [***]!
Got call from this number, I am in England. Oriental sounding guy asked me if my satellite was working OK. I said yes and he put the phone down.
These scammers are now trying a different tack!!
These lying scam artists are in india, not texas, no matter what they say. The fact that they have to lie to drum up business and come here to lie about it tells you all you need to know.
Your phone number has come up several times on a clients phone and I am concerned about her well being. If you are from Microsoft and have a problem with her computer please call me at 905-688-0022 ext. 5355 and we will deal with this together. If not I will report this number to the local fraud division of the St. Catharines police station.
