Claimed they were Tech Support and that we had a problem with our computer. This scam was identified on our local news in Toronto. They put you on a website, gain access to your machine, put on a virus and then charge you to get it off. Also other scam is that you give them remote access and they steal personal info from your machine. They also can put on keyloggers in order to access your on-line banking etc. They got frustrated and hung on when I kept asking them questions.
Besides writing something in this space ... is it there a way about blocking these numbers? I have been receiving calls from numbers like this and they never answer. Can somebody out there tell me how to stop this ?
this mornning i rreceived a ph call from this number 972-453-9824 claiming,to be calling me from the United States grant devision, she also stated that i was approved for a grant of 7000 dollars and wanted more imformation from me, i then looked at my caller id and saw the call was from a pay phone, this is a woman with an asian acsent, when i asked her where she was calling me from she stated Washington DC SO PEOPLE BEWARE THEY ARE OUT THERE
Call from +1 (972) 453-9824 came up on my iPhone. And said was from
TX, USA. This automatically came up underneath the number and another from USA. Listed as +1(707)822-9850. From Arcata,CA. So I'm guessing there from this location if my iPhone has listed it as that. I tried to ring the first number back an it jus rang through continuously. I live in the UK and am very confused why an American number was ringing me. Due to having a contract phone I do not want to accept any calls unless it won't charge me extreme fees. Please help to
