Its a bad idea to refur to the company as RCI, as there are multiple companies out of texas with those initials. Such as Resident Collect Inc. who are scum do to the fact they wont settle a debt they baught for pennies on the dollar even tho the debt is almost old enough to default. They would rather lose it all instead of settle and make some
I just left from working there.
There all tactics we use
We don't sue anyone noticed we kept saying "Recommend" lawsuit & "Recommend" reporting to Experian?
Doesn't get reported to any credit Bureau's. There isn't anything you can do about them contacting neighbors but I would suggest ignoring the calls never talk to anyone, it'll go away. & we eventually have to close the account No matter how "urgent" we shound & say we are going to do this or that? We're not.
I use to work there and with Jessica! I'm not proud of working there by any means but it was a pretty good paying job that allowed me to live & provide a life for myself. But legally they can contact neighbors for a "Commercial Debt" if it was a "Consumer Debt" that would definitely be illegal. But it's a business debt. There are the two debts are very different & have different laws between the two of them. & if you plug in any address there is a system that will give you the neighbors to that address & their names & phone numbers. Sometimes even Social Security numbers. Bottom line, ignore RCI they're full of bologna they are going to sue anyone & it's just tactics they use to try to scare you into paying the dang bill.Rest assure.the best thing to do is ignore all calls, even the neighbors msg on your door...it'll go away.if you pick up a call and talk to someone ONCE expect waaaay more calls because then they know they have the right person and know that you are reachable.
....are you sure they don't report to credit agencies?
This John Roberts guy was the one harrassing me last year, telling/demanding/yelling that I needed to return the equipment that I had leased originally. He even used a called ID masking software where he made his incoming call to my cell phone look like it was coming from my home, so of course I answered it. I did in fact return the equipment. Then, I checked my credit reports and sure enough it showed up that RCI had checked my credit (which is below average, WELL below average, now that we had to close our business.
The people that made the presentation seemed pretty reputable...I now wish I'd never let them in the door. I was made to believe they would save us almost $1,000 per month and presto!...not only did it not save us anyting, it COST us $600 MORE!!!
Our biz went belly up and then the harrassing calls started and did not stop until I'd returned the equipment....then they stopped for 5-6 months....till a couple weeks ago....some lady named Keisha calls. I am SO glad I didn't give them the information they wanted....my checking account information under the guise that they could take a 'check-by-phone' but not a credit card. Gee, I wonder why they won't take a credit card?!!
The debt they are saying I owe is bogus now that I have returned the equipment.
So....bottom line....are you SURE they never report and that I should not ever call them back, nor answer any of their calls?
