Call received approx. 1330 5/9/08. Recorded voice message indicated the call was from the Hennepin County Jail (press 1 for English, press 2 for Spanish) and would I accept a collect call from (static) press 1 for accept; the message repeated again. The call then terminated by the caller. Unable to call back.
Call came from a detention center and the name was mumbled. Then the operator came back on saying that I needed to activate an account. That is when I hung up and didn't call it back because I didn't know what was going on.
I got a call from this number indicating the caller was calling collect from the Hennepin (MN) county jail. There wasn't a name that I could tell, so I didn't accept. Thanks for all the other inputs indicating this is likely a scam.
