I got this same scam call from Sterling, Va. ... Idiot didn't identify who he was calling for, and even though he said it was a "time-sensitive" matter and that I should call back as soon as I received the call, he didn't leave a call back number; had to get it off my caller ID. When I called the number back, it cut off after several rings - no voice mail. Same badge number and name given - Jonathan Knight, Badge #06719. Computerized voice, sounded like he was from India.
He claims his name is Jonathan Knight and claims that they have audited us and that we owe the IRS. Demands payments (different amounts each time they call) within 2 hours. They have called repeatedly and told us to [***], demanded our address, told us to shove it in "our momma's [***]" when we called them out about actual IRS process and protocol. Then said he was Abraham Lincoln and on another call claimed to be Obama. This is harassment, above all they may actually reach some fool that will be too ignorant to know better and will actually pay them.
Yes, I have received several calls from this guy. At one point he left a message, then a few,days later he was acting like he was leaving a message, but the call got cut short. Then when I tried calling the number back, it'll ring once, then hang up.
Received call from Jonathan Knight said fraud activity had been reported on my taxes and to call back URGENTLY. I called back and spoke with "Benjamin" who said a sheriff was going to be arriving on my doorstep TODAY to arrest me for "unpaid taxes" and I was being audited for the years 2002-2010 for unfiled 941C forms. I explained I never had to file 941C forms. He said I owed almost $3500 in taxes. I explained that due to a house fire in 2008 I had no documents to provide so then he said that because of that, my fine would NOW be $27,000! Gave me a case number and everything. We got disconnected and I called back. When he started repeating himself I got suspicious and Googled the number and thank God I did because that's when I found all these sites showing it to be a scam!
When he answered and I told him he was a scammer he hung up on me! I kept calling back and it finally went through and he answered with "What do you want now?". I said "I want you to repeat your 'badge number' and full name so that I can give it to that Sheriff's office that you threatened me with!" He said "Oh you Americans think you are so smart! If you only knew how much money we get out of you with our games!" I was SO MAD!!!! He hung up on me and now my calls won't go through.
