They called me twice at 1:35 and 1:45, didn't say what the call was about and was asking me all these questions about my personal life, I asked what the call was about and they said my Windows Computer, I informed them I don't have a Windows Computer, then they asked about if I had more friends, boys or girls, asked if I was single, and then asked me what I was wearing. Wanted to know if I was home alone, if I had brothers or sisters... This was all the first call. I couldn't differentiate if it was a man or woman, I'll go with woman. Weird accent, it sounded more Hispanic than Indian in my opinion, there was a lot of background noise as well. Then they called me again and wanted to know what I was doing what, since I had begone to watch a movie. I asked what this call was about this time and said not to call me anymore, says they'll call me later. I said not to, but the insist. I also inform this person that I was underage and yet, they're saying they're going to keep calling. That's a problem.
I've had this type call before. Telling me I have a virus and used the phrase I can see you moving around. Told me to turn on my computer... well it was already on so I shut it off quickly. Lots of background noise like the room was full of the characters talking about viruses and whatever. I have just renewed my Do Not Call whatever list. What is their scam. I never let get far enough find out what it is.
I received several calls from this number over the last several days. I answered the most recent one and after 15 seconds a foreign man who said his name was "Ethan" started reading a speech that claimed he was from "Windows Technical." I tried asking him questions (although I knew it was a scam) and his only response was "no problem"--he doesn't even speak/understand English. I told him not to call me again or else I would report it to the police.
The caller said that they were from Microsoft, and my computer had a virus.
I told him that I was thrilled that he called to tell me this, and that I would take the computer into my IT shop so that they can administer an antibiotic to my infected machine.
I have been called by these monkeys several times. I have multiple certifications including several from Microsoft and manage a large group of IT people - from India no less, so I know what I am doing on a PC, including virus removal. Once when they called, I pinned him down with a few questions and told him he was a liar. He proceeded to call me a couple of rude things with lot's of F bombs and then hung up. Caller ID showed they called the house 5 times today when no one was home. Told the wife that next time they call to ask them to hang on a minute and then just set the phone down until they hang up. Run their phone and internet bills up enough and their scam will become unprofitable.
