Have received calls from this number on several occasion say that they are with Windows. THIS IS A SCAM. They try to gain remote access of your computer to hack your information. They tell you that they are getting error reports from your computer and need remote access to fix it. DON'T DO IT. Windows is a Microsoft product and; after a chat with Microsoft corporate; understand they Microsoft will NEVER INITIATE contact with you unless you specifically request contact. BLOCK THIS NUMBER! Also they have called back within minutes with a call that has no caller ID. It's the same demons.
They called a couples today; caller ID showed it as a call from Jamacia. When I answered, an Indian man said he was from Microsoft Tech Support and that our computer was sending error messages to their server. He wanted remote access to our computer to fix the errors. We told him we weren't have any issues. He was very persistent, and we finally hung up.
This is from someone who claims they are from Microsoft to repair your Windows. I heard people in the background laughing sounded like they were eating dinner. I could barely understand what was being said, but I had this call a few times before.
I got a call from a person who sounds Indian (not Native American) who wanted me to turn over the control of my computer to him so he could "FIX" it - I didn't know it was broken...funny! Not a chance! I've received numerous calls from this person (or person[s] with the same thick Indian accent) from different phone numbers. I block one, and then another one "pops" up. As someone mentioned earlier, why doesn't the government stop this. If the NSA tracks everyone, then why doesn't the NSA shut them DOWN? Unless...unless, it's the government doing this under disguise for some bizarre reason. Okay all you Conspiracy Theorists out there...if you figure it out, leave a message on this board for everyone. Next Subject: I purchased a new computer from a nationally known warehouse store and set it up one evening after work. I don't use a WebCam & Mic on my home PC (you may think you can turn them off, but according to a computer geek I know, the average person can't turn them off - computers today have built-in internal overrides - anyway, although I do nothing illegal, it's just spooky having a camera watching me 24/7 [think during intimacy!] and it's flat-out too intrusive for my tastes.) So I covered them with paper and tape. The next morning, I received a call from the Warehouse Store, and they explained that they had been informed by **___** (the store could never explain to my satisfaction who **___** was/were) that my computer model was being recalled due to some audio/visual issues. I returned the computer for a refund and had my old computer repaired. P.S. I've covered the Cam & Mic on my tablet and phone too & then I remove the paper and tape when I use them - I take my privacy seriously. Paranoid? Maybe. But "Big Brother doesn't need my help.
Another call today from two different numbers: 718 658 7748 and 845 459 2725 Indian accent. States they are from Windows tech department or something like that. They want control of your Windows computer. Beware! I have hung up or declined the call.
Get calls from this number every single day, sometimes 2-3 times a day. I finally answered the call today & the caller (from India) said he was Rocky from Microsoft Windows & my computer was full of viruses. He wanted me to turn on the computer & he would show me the viruses & help me delete them. He had my email address & my phone number. My response to him was not nice! When I tried to call the number I got the message "this number is not in service".
