"ALL" of the spam I receive (regularly) comes from the Jersey City/Bayonne New Jersey area. This # is just one of the many #'s they use. If a non-technical person such as myself can figure this out so easily, why don't the telephone companies have the technology to eliminate it? The government supplied us with the "national do not call registry" but not the "international do not call registry". Criminals from everywhere prey on the fragile in this country. Who do we turn to at this point for results? Shouldn't we be able to protect ourselves from SPAM? Is anyone really doing anything about it? Get with it people, it's 2016! Technologically we should be past this stage already. It doesn't look very good for those cities either.
My advice to eveyone is:
1. Don't answer any unrecognizable numbers that are not listed in your contacts. They never leave a message, so you know it's not anyone attempting to contact you.
2. Google the number to see if it's legitimate. It could be a legitimate caller.
3. Call the phone company and give them the number. They will eventually realize they are wasting money by paying salaries to take these complaints and invest it in the technology necessary to erradicate it altogether.
