These turkeys change numbers every other day. I connect then disconnect immediately then block number. These dots will continue no matter what you do. Our great gov't won't do a thing,
We're on our own folks.
If you don't recognize the name and/or number DON'T ANSWER...and never respond in any manner That number you push may actually be accepting something that you can be billed for. Don't say "yes" to you can hear him now...you may be saying yes to a $300 magazine subscription...after all, they are scammers.
I've received emails claiming to be from "my" credit card company wanting me to verify my account number...SCAM!!!. CALL THAT CARD COMPANY AND FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. Another recent scam is in the guise of Google (looks real...they're good) stating your battery has a virus and will self destruct within x time if you dont...(link given) stop it.
Scamming and phishing only works if there is a market. A legitimate caller will be identified, will leave a name, message and call back number, giving you the option to respond
I wish all the TV stations would run programs at prime times on scams and cautions; how to report and deal with them. That would be public service in public interest, and hopefully, make these scammers into real losers.
