This scammer calls mobile (cell phone) numbers in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered, and still further violate the TCPA by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line. Their recording states that the victim has had their student loans (this victim doesn't have any student loans, and the mobile number in question has never been affiliated with a student loan) flagged for debt forgiveness by President Obama. This is clearly a scam. Do not provide this scammer with any personal or financial information.
NEVER NEVER NEVER press 1!!!!!!!! This is a bounced number - DNC does NOT work. I get the calls too. Somehow, from somewhere they got our numbers. The only thing you can do is block. again - do not EVER call them back or press 1!
Called saying I was elligible for a 40% reduction in my student loans due to a law from President Obama that passed in 2014. Said to press 1 to be connected to a live operator. I hung up
