So I have an account on care.com for dog walking service and got a text message from this number asking met to email her sister who is looking for a dog walker. I emailed and got a response that was very detailed and basically saying they wanted to hire me to walk there two dogs when they moved to this area. They would send a cashier check ahead of time as the dogs might get there before they do and so on.... Well I'm thankfully aware of scams like this and hope this helps someone make the decision that it's to good to be true and they are scamming you for money. Even if your bank accepts the check about 7 days later it will deny it and your bank account can be negative by thousands of dollars. They will try everything to get you to send them money as fast as possible because of this. Be aware! You work hard for your money, don't let people do this to you!!!
Got multiple calls from (201) 374-8004 claiming to be John Wilson from Microsoft and warning me that my computer was about to crash and he was a senior tech assigned to fix the problem. Claimed he was calling from Tennessee...although this is a New Jersey phone number. Had very heavy Indian accent, when I asked to speak to someone else was directed to another person with Indian accent. I have refused all subsequent calls.
Got 4th call from these SCAMMERS today, (201) 374-8004. A heavily accented Indian man claims to be John Wilson from Microsoft Tech Support in Tennessee. Claims my computer is going to crash and he needs to connect to it and fix it. Interestingly, the phone number is in New Jersey. When I claimed I couldn't understand him, he switched me to another man with an Indian accent who claimed to be a Senior Tech. I said I don't know why Microsoft would be calling me, but that there were a lot of scams going around and I needed to be careful. He offered to let me call another number (800) 604-9149 to prove they were Microsoft. I checked the area code of the initial calls and they are from New Jersey. So much for honesty. Watch out. I will be forwarding a report to Microsoft directly.
