So I have an account on care.com for dog walking service and got a text message from this number asking met to email her sister who is looking for a dog walker. I emailed and got a response that was very detailed and basically saying they wanted to hire me to walk there two dogs when they moved to this area. They would send a cashier check ahead of time as the dogs might get there before they do and so on.... Well I'm thankfully aware of scams like this and hope this helps someone make the decision that it's to good to be true and they are scamming you for money. Even if your bank accepts the check about 7 days later it will deny it and your bank account can be negative by thousands of dollars. They will try everything to get you to send them money as fast as possible because of this. Be aware! You work hard for your money, don't let people do this to you!!!
They called twice today. I answered the second one, got a guy from the Middle East. Let him get as far as 20 words into his stuff & very forcibly started asking him how he got the number and said I wanted a manager. I told him this was a secured government line belonging to the FBI and I needed to know how he got it. I just kept repeating this to everything he said. Finally he asked if I knew the meaning of the word sorry. I told him when you create a security breach with the FBI there is no sorry, just repercussions. I then told him to hold on, and said to the side, "What's that Fred, you got is traced? Good". I told the guy never mind we had everything we will need, they will hear from us, and hung up.
Almost as much fun as the time I told the cemetery plot guy I didn't need one because I am not from this planet and will take another form when I am tired of this one!
Well not really but you know what I mean. That was awesome. I wish more people had the guts to do that. I wonder how long it would take the idiots on the other end to realize that the FBI has as many numbers available to them as they do.
Got a call from them during the 12:00 hour and 3:00 hour. They have been calling from random numbers for weeks. Informed them that the FBI is aware of their scam and the call is being forwarded to the FBI. He proceeded to argue with me that he is not claiming to be Microsoft and they are a certified third party support company and I informed him that anyone can claim that by printing out a fake certification and that the FBI is smarter than that. He proceeded to get upset and tell me how wrong I was. Next time he calls I plan on informing them that I need to fix their computer first :)
