So I have an account on care.com for dog walking service and got a text message from this number asking met to email her sister who is looking for a dog walker. I emailed and got a response that was very detailed and basically saying they wanted to hire me to walk there two dogs when they moved to this area. They would send a cashier check ahead of time as the dogs might get there before they do and so on.... Well I'm thankfully aware of scams like this and hope this helps someone make the decision that it's to good to be true and they are scamming you for money. Even if your bank accepts the check about 7 days later it will deny it and your bank account can be negative by thousands of dollars. They will try everything to get you to send them money as fast as possible because of this. Be aware! You work hard for your money, don't let people do this to you!!!
Received call from 877-688-8587 at noon, and heard a man with an accent starting his sale routine. Told them to take my name & number off their list, informed them my number was registered with the “do not call” registry and hung up. Later on I received a call from 201-374-8004 (5PM), and got a loud tone that didn’t even cut off after I disconnected the call. Had to turn the phone completely off then restart. At 5:10, I received another call from the first number... looks like I’m getting harrassed by these jerks.
I basically never answer my phone unless I recognize someone or a call I expected starts to leave message on my answering machine. But I often get these calls (that just hang up) even though I placed my phone # on Do Not Call list. Today I got a call from 1-201-374-8004 who left "message" on my answering machine. The message was in the form of some music. I wonder if anyone can tell me what message they are trying to send via this music.
Still calling from this number (11/27/2014) making the same claim to be Microsoft Support who have identified problems with my computer. Yet, another telephone number (possibly spoofed) with the intent to implant malware and spybots on my computer. Will report this number to the FTC--even though the call most likely originated in India.
