Never get into a discussion with this type of caller. Do not give information, do not curse, do not request removal from call list, do not do anything. Just HANG UP. The more you argue, the more the scammers will call back. And the more irritated you are, the more likely it is that you will reveal information.
Same person just called and asked if I was going back to school...knew my name too it was really weird. Does anything result from these calls,? How did they get my number it's too freaky
The man who called me claimed I requested information about going back to school. I politely told him that there was a mistake, I didn't request any such information, and I was not interested. He then asked, "Then why did you request for information? Why, why, why?" (Yes, he actually said, "Why, why, why?") He couldn't tell me when I made this supposed request (which, most likely, someone else made without my permission) but seemed absolutely certain that I did. The caller was incredibly rude, and gave me a ridiculously hard time because I didn't want to know about furthering my education.
Called twice today and once yesterday. Yesterday was about going back to school they hung up on me after a min and today it was about auto insurance, they knew my name, city i live in and zip code. Told him i wasn't interested and he got very rude and raised his voice a bit. Then same man called about federal grants and going back to school, told him i already got a degree and wasn't interested. He got upset, started getting rude and raised his voice again. I hung up on him.
