Lady called asking to speak to manager, said her name is Rachel. Lots of background noise and bad echo on phone. Everything I said would echo back. She wanted to know who orders parts, manager put her through to directors voicemail. She hung up and tried calling back 2 minutes later. Not sure if scam or not, but if it looks like a duck.....beware!!!!
"Michelle" wanted to know if I was still the person who ordered the service and safety supplys. (which I never was) When I told her her no, and said we bought locally, she hung up on me. Not the first time "Horizon" has called on us.
Just got a call from "Rachel" When I asked what it was regarding she quickly put someone else on the line. When I asked the Company name she said Atlas. When I asked what the call was regarding she got irate and asked my name. I didn't give it to her - to which she told me that she didn't talk to strangers and that she would complain to my management because I didn't give her my name. Hung up. She called back from a number that said "Private Caller". She was not happy that I answered again. She yelled obscenities in the phone... I hung up on her. CRAZY People!
I got a call a few weeks back stating they were from Grainger and wanted to know the production managers name, I didn't think much about it when I told her his name, but then when they hung up I thought that was strange they didn't want to talk with him. Then yesterday, I get this call from a very rude and obnoxious lady who asks for the Jon (our production manager) here is the conversation:
Her: Is Jon XXXX your production manager in?
Me: No, he is out at the moment, may I take a message?
Her: Is there a cell phone he can be reached at? Larry the branch manager of Interstate Mechanical would like to speak with him.
Me: No, but if you can give me Larry's number I can have Jon call him..
From this point, she got very rude
Her: Well, I am only a temp lady and I don't know Larry's number. I think is probably about the water in the back of the building.
Me: Okay, well I am the office manager and I actually take all of the water calls.
Her: I think Larry would be very offended that you won't give me his number.
Me: Well Ma'am again, I am the office manager and I take all of the water calls. If Larry would like to speak to me directly I will be leaving the office soon and he can call my cell phone. xxx-xxx-xxxx.
She then hangs up and I never got a call.
Today, I get a call, from the same lady her voice is annoyingly recognizable, asking for the Jon, and when I say he is not in she asks for is cell phone. Again, I state I cannot give that information out and I would gladly take a message. She then asks when he can be reached. I tell her he is in an out all day long and there is never a guarantee when he will be in. Again, I tell her I will take a message. She tells me that she will try back again and hangs up.
If a person from this company gets a name from a manager or person of position at your place of employment, they will call you several times a day. The guy who has called me always says, "I'm returning a call from (director's name)." I put the call through. The director finally came to me and asked me not to send him anymore calls from this number. The next time this number called, I said the director was unavailable and asked if I could take a message. The caller said he was "on his way out to a meeting," but could he hold. I put him through to the director's voicemail. This number called yet again so I actually just let the phone ring until voicemail picked it up. Do not give this caller the names of any employers who work with you. They use it as a way to get through to try to sell products.
