I called medco after getting a call like this and they said this is NOT them. They contract with private corporations and do not solicit by phone. Do not give info to the fradulent persons posing as them.
I too received a call from 201-891-1029. The person I talked with wanted to make sure I was receiving all of the prescription benefits I was offered by my company. They asked a few questions to verify my name and address. I asked why they were calling and the caller said I could call the Express Scripts number and speak with another representative if I was more comfortable. I called Express Scripts and verified that 201-891-1029 is indeed a valid Express Scripts number. She mentioned that calls are initiated in order to convert existing pharmacy prescriptions to mail order. This increases Express Scripts profits and reduces customers cost.
In order for them to do their job, they need to make sure they are talking to the correct person. This presents a problem....in my case, they provided my company name and month of birth.....but I had already researched comments online about this number (201-891-1029) and was suspicious. I will always choose to initiate these types of calls and not give out information when receiving calls.
This number calls me on my cell phone every day. Caller ID indicates unknown number, but phone is 201 891 1029. They never leave a message.
This MIGHT be an automated trolling system. In other words, it records the fact that someone ANSWERS and it records the time of day that this happened. Then, your phone number is sold as an ACTIVE number to another telemarketer.
Telemarketing is a hilarious business. Do they really think that they can get us to buy something if they call us EVERY DAY?
Someone somewhere must be buying stuff over the phone from telemarketers... I just can't imagine who and why.
I rec'd a call from this guy who said he was from Medco. He started asking me my address, and I said if you are from Medco, then you know my address. And besides, Medco has made several statements on their website
that they WILL NOT contact you by phone unless you email them or call them and ask them to. They will never do it on their own.
