Got call left voicemail twice saying I they are from Us Treasury dept criminal investigation dept of Jim Marshall in Washington D.C. My residance is beinging investiagted. Investigation #CM1000177. Guy had a heavy Middle Eastern Accent.
Called twice on Sat Morning . October 4, 2014 @ 11:24am and 12:03pm. Same message both times.
They gave the phone number to call 202-241-7811.
I just got a call from a man who said his name was Chester calling from 202-241-7811. I could hardly understand his accent, I had to ask him to repeat himself several times. He told me my case # and warrant number were also Case line #: CM100177. It seemed fishy, so I kept pushing for more info. He said that when they investigated my 1040 form from 2010 there were errors and they tried contacting me by mail on 9/12/13 and 5/21/14 and left me a voicemail on Friday morning at 10:30. I said I never received any messages, we check our messages daily. So he asked if I wanted him to replay it to me and I said okay? So after a minute of waiting, he played back a message that he left me which could have been recorded that moment. It seemed really fishy. He said today was the last day before this file proceeded to be filed by a legal matter or something and he asked if I have an attorney who can represent me in a court house. I still couldn't really understand what he was talking about so I said I had to talk to my husband and would call back. But this is obviously a scam!
