CALLER FROM 202 241-7811; left message from an Indian accented guy looking for my mom (she's 90 in a nursing home) said he's with the US Treasury and working a Fed investigation CM 100177.
I called back today - got no info out of him so I hung up. He was on a bad cell phone, heard another Indian guy in the background -- an obvious SCAM.
My mom called me in a panic today because she received 3 threatening phone calls from this number. A man with a heavy accent identified himself as Eric Smith and said is was an officer from the US Treasury. He gave her a case number and said a criminal charge was being filed against her.

Got call "Unknown Name" 202-241-7811
Guy with HEAVY-HEAVY Indian accent (took 5 min) told me that US Treasury opened case CM100177 for Back Taxes for 2010. I demanded details - he switched me to his "Supervisor" - also with accent - but not so heavy
Told me that they sent 2 mails and now it does not matter if I got them or not.
Told that I need attorney and that they send police to arrest me.
This idiots use the same case # CM100177 for many people
I sent them to HELL - which worked
I do not know what is the end game - how they want to get money
But - at 1st stage they only asked me to confirm my address (which they knew) and name - no problem to find name if you have address.
They did not ask me for SSN/Dob or any other sensitive info.
