Got a phone number 202 864 17 91 call saying I owed 49805.93 from taxes due 2006 2007 a and 2011 said I received mail back in December me and my wife don't remember also receiving number from 206-201-2799also saying they are IRS did not leak case number or even how much I owe per year said all paperwork was sent to the court house in Washington DC haha joke
At 10:00 am CDT on 6/17/2015 I received a cold call from 202-864-1791. The caller ID listed the call as being from "Wshngtnzn1 DC". A man with a very heavy Indian accent said he was calling from the IRS. When I pressed him to transfer me to his supervision he hung up. I called the number back later and a woman with a heavy Indian accent answered and said I had reached the Audit Department of the IRS. I was surprised the scam was that well orchestrated but I played along and told her I has received a call from this number earlier. She paused, talked to someone else briefly, then said I was called by mistake.
I just got a call from this number, it was a recording of a man with heavy Indian accent telling me he was the irs and I better call him back, they're pressing criminal charges and God be with me if I don't call him back right away lol. First of all the irs would have said my full name, second this call came from another country... +202 number is out of the country. 3rd, irs would have contacted us via mail first. Nice try.
Got a call from this number 202-864-1791.....said they were from the IRS and that it pertained to tax evasion from 2008 to 2013. My husband had answered so I called back later. The guy seemed kind of rude and not professional, definitely not from the IRS. When I asked him his name he said Chris Cooper. He asked what number I was calling from and then tried to recite it twice, finally getting it correct the third time??? Told him I wanted to talk to Brian Daniel who called earlier. He said he would transfer me. We got disconnected and then we couldn't call back (thinking he blocked our number). My husband called from his cell phone and got the same guy again and questioned him on the blocking and why he would answer from another number. The guy hung up on my husband. SCAMMERS!!!!
Just got the same phone call from 202-864-1791. The caller ID was the same as yours. The guy again spoke with a heavy Indian accent. He stated that I owed 4,900.00 in back taxes and if I did not make a payment that I would face a fine of 75,000 dollars and 5 years in prison. After telling this guy I would be checking with the IRS in my home city he got angry and more threatening. I contact the IRS by phone they are aware of the scam. They also call from a 509 area code. DON'T FALL for it!
