Interesting that you folks think everyone who lives in Washington, DC has something to do with the government or politics. There actually are lots of private citizens there.
The DNC list isn't a joke it works great. Ligit companies use it the scammers don't. They just robo call by sequential numbers until the get a hit.
The DNC list is not an active system and it does not block numbers. It is passive and companies have to subscribe.
Since these calls apparently are coming from Washington DC, you can bet it is a political call....they start getting more clever and frequent everytime there is a hot issue going on back there...political parties trying to garner support for something....drives me crazy....who on earth is going to pick up a call from an unknown number that says unknown caller...I guess some do...I just find them annoying....I've had a whole rash of different telemarketer calls today...must be a big day for them.
I got a call from this number yesterday and a call two days ago from another "Washington DC" number 202-524-5373, both times no message was left - of course.
202-524-5413 called and asked to speak to a member of the family by name. Due to the obvious call-management, 2-3 seconds silence before pickup, I politely declined the request and they ended the call without further questions.
