Interesting that you folks think everyone who lives in Washington, DC has something to do with the government or politics. There actually are lots of private citizens there.
So annoying, call all days of the week, all hours. Obviously a telemarketer as they can't figure out they're speaking to an answering machine. Will not go away...spoofed number, btw, so no point in reporting it. It probably IS out of service. Really, I think I'm just going to disconnect my landline now. Only kept it around for when my husband's ancient and frail parents were still alive and had that number programmed into their phone. They've both passed on now, so no need for the landline anymore.
telemarketer selling magazine subscriptions. Were offering Washingtonian because we were once subscribers. However, the subscription was a gift subscription and the magazine never had our phone number. Therefore, I suspect it's a different company who is doing a magazine scam.
...the [***] from the Washingtonian magazine persist in their annoying efforts to secure new subscriptions...they also use 202-524-5373... give them false info so that they will incur expenses...
I can't believe I almost gave this guy my VISA number! A total brain-freeze. Caller ID said 'unknown name' but he asked for me, was very professional and said that my subscription to a professional publication that I have read for years had expired (it had...about 2 weeks ago) and they wanted me back and would offer me a discounted rate. As I was at my computer, I quickly checked the rate he offered with that offered on the website of the publication and found that his price was $5 higher than their regular rate....thank goodness, as this is what set the alarm off in my brain.
