Called the number back and a thickly-accented man identified himself as a "Officer of the U.S. Treasury." He then asked why I called and I said "You called me, what do you need?" He then said "Life is a [***], Life is a [***]" and hung up on me. hahahaha!!!!
Threatening call, accusations of back taxes owed and arrests being made. I asked repeatedly that they present the information in writing and that I would have my accountant review it. Awful scam call.
They called saying they were from the IRS and that I owed back taxes and that I had arrest warrants and I needed to take care of this matter but I have never received anything in writing from any of them. And none of them spoke very good English
This is the usual BS call for money. If you play along they eventually offer to put your back taxes on a credit card. I said I was in their area and preferred to pay in person if they could give me their location. That's when they hung up. I can't imagine they are making much off of this scam.
