I have been trolling this number for 2 days. This morning I spent 12 minutes with them. They are claiming that you misfiled for your 2014-2015 tax years. The random amount associated with my "name" (an alias) was $5680. The 2 names that were given to me were David Brown (a low level info collector) and Adam Jones (a superior officer...LOLZ). Managed to get "badge numbers" from both, 2 from David Brown. Case reference numbers are CFxxxxx. This is a classic iTunes card scam. If you receive a call from these tools, make sure to burn as much of their time as possible. For everyone minute we spend on the phone with them, they have one less minute to scam someone else.
Got this call about an hour ago, didn't pick up. They left a VM stating that I had a federal case against me and this is the second time trying to contact me. Also threateningly said that if I don't call back, "good luck." TOTAL SCAM
Yesterday I had a message on my phone. Called back about 15 minutes ago and was told that my 2014-15 and 2015-16 income tax was filled out wrong. I know there are scams and told her that so another man got on the phone and said that if I hung up I would be arrested and sent to jail. I told hem they can not do that. He said I owed over$4,ooo and that if not paid they would stop my bank account etc. etc. I knew it was a scam but it scared the heck out of me. The call was very similar to the others on here. To be sure, I called the person who files my taxes and was assured it was a scam. A person could have a heart attack. What can be done
Got the same call! It sounded like a female voice from an automated voice machine. Gave me a case number and said it's a second attempt to reach me and if they didn't hear from me or my attorney, if get in deep trouble
