Maybe then, you might explain WHY those letters often insist we call them, and then are put on hold for at least an hour (each call). After that the call transfers, we are asked for SS#, then promptly DISCONNECTED!
This has happened not once, but 8 times this year alone-understaffing isn't a good retort, the customers get the bad end of this, and it needs to change. There must be a reliable method to reach the IRS
This message was in Spanish telling me that they are offering assistance with the IRS and it is a one time offer to reduce what I owe the IRS by 70%.. That according to THEIR records my debt is high. Press one for assistance, Well since I don't owe I pressed the disconnect button, plus added to my blocking list. Scammers!
Called my number twice and because I did not answer the phone, (I usually don't answer unfamiliar phone especially long distance number). Because I did not answer the phone a lady kept leaving a message on my voice mail which I didn't understand at all bout but sound like about IRS.
