Left 2 identical messages on voice mail today saying the IRS issued an arrest warrant for me along with my physical property, and I. must call them immediately to avoid prosecution/loss of property. I ignored them. I made a call I'd put off to make sure the IRS had deposited my refund.
I received a call this morning 5/27/2016 9:59 am on my HOME phone. Message said the IRS was suing me for back taxes and I could lose my home and property. When I called back it took 30 rings before a man with an accent (perhaps Indian) said IRS. I said, 'How can you prove to me this is the IRS'; he said a few fumbling words; then I said you are a foreigner, this is not the IRS. I promptly hung up. I have the same trouble with some guy trying to tell me He is from Microsoft and my computer is not working, he will help me clean it up by taking over my keyboard. Duh! I'm blonde, retired and Super Smart, definitely not gullible. How do we stop this nonsense?
Msg. on VM landline today-same threat of IRS arrest and property, and State Investigation. Said we must call # back asap to avoid legal consequences. Is why we don't answer unknown numbers as shown on Caller ID. Blocked the number. Also, tried to fill out the form to report call, on IRS' site, got error message twice. Gave up.
