Left 2 identical messages on voice mail today saying the IRS issued an arrest warrant for me along with my physical property, and I. must call them immediately to avoid prosecution/loss of property. I ignored them. I made a call I'd put off to make sure the IRS had deposited my refund.
Essentially received a phone call similar to the other comments today. We have an unlisted landline [no help there and, like a fool, keep paying for it!!! My bad? My stoopid? lololol]. We also usually do not answer numbers we do not know. Another time, the source had entered a woman's name on the caller ID so I answered anyway ... as soon as I hear a heavy oriental accent, I ask where they are calling from, where they got my phone # from, etc. I have ALL our phone #s on the NATIONAL DO-NOT-CALL LIST. It interesting how they avoid answering that or say something dumb like "We do not have that <mumble mumble>." When I tell them do delete my number, they hang up. THE NEXT DAY THEY CALLED USING THE SAME LADY'S NAME & SCAM STORY. SO I HUNG UP ON THEM!!!! not worth the aggravation! BUT i do plan on starting to report these people. I really think that many of these calls are coming from China / Orient; They're annoyingly persistent & determined to bother the cr*p out of us until they find a sucker, I guess!
Got a call yesterday with attached voice mail. The VM was so garbled that I had to Iisten several times to finally hear "IRS" and I believe a threat of police involvement if I didn't call the number immediately.
