Don't you know? ... "Political Surveys" are exempt from the DNC list!
ANYONE can call your number by just saying they want you to answer a few of their survey questions first. THEN they ask for your credit card numbers and any other information they can con you into giving them.
"You have been carefully selected for an important political opinion survey. In exchange for a short 30 second opinion survey, you will receive a free trip to the Bahamas provided by one of our sponsors..." <click> At that point I hung up...
Free trip to the Bahamas for a 30 second survey? I'll take two of those along with the Brooklin Bridge.
Nothing is ever free, when it is given away by telemarketers.
I pretended to be interested and wasted 33 minutes of their time.
The political survey is a joke and I just pressed 1 over and over to get through it.
A live person soon came on and asks if I'm married, over 18 and possess a credit card.
I just said "yes" to everything. I ended up talking to 3 people one of which was a supervisor.
(If you waste the time of a supervisor you earn bonus points.)
For 15 minutes they tried to charge my "phony" credit card, LOL.
Telemarketing, surveys, etc. are illegal to cell phones. Cell phones have a greater protection than the DNC list. The fact that they are calling cell phones pretty much tips you off that they are a criminal enterprise.
