The best course of action to take with the scammer calls is to find out what telephone service they use and report Fraud/Abuse to them directly. It can be found online usually.
The Do Not Call Registry is a fraud and a waste of taxpayer's money. If they actually DID anything to stop these calls to the public there would be a decrease in them, NOT AN INCREASE!!
I receive daily calls from this number offering "affordable dental insurance." Pressing 2 to be taken off of this "special list" does not seem to work. Nor does pressing 1 to speak to an agent.
I just got a call saying card services and my last chance to....... I don't know what because I hung up but my phone has the ability to block numbers and it is now blocked but they will just call from a different number I am sure.
SCAM artists spoofed CallID to
FRAUD DataMine Phishing for ANY personal information!
Protect yourself! SAY NOTHING! 2 second silence is recorded to gather intel on you, then all data is saved in their database and used to pry more from you the next time they call. And they WILL call again. Answer no questions. Don't even verify your name! Tell them NOTHING except:
"Do not call. We are registered on the national do not call list. Each violation will be prosecuted at $500 penalty. DO NOT CALL!" then disconnect and
dial *57 to send a call trace to law enforcement.
