The best course of action to take with the scammer calls is to find out what telephone service they use and report Fraud/Abuse to them directly. It can be found online usually.
The Do Not Call Registry is a fraud and a waste of taxpayer's money. If they actually DID anything to stop these calls to the public there would be a decrease in them, NOT AN INCREASE!!
It is illegal to call at that time. Calls can only be made between 8am and 9pm according to your timezone. I talked to a person when thet called. I don't think she spoke in English when I told her that she would be turned in and what the laws are on call times.
I received a few calls from this number and it is a recording for "affordable dental plans". You have the option to press 2 to remove your number or another number to speak with somebody. I have pressed 2 several times and fainally pressed the option to sppeak with somebody today. It took a couple minutes for somebody to answer. I explained the situation, the rep. said nothing and hung up.
I am tired of the calls and am on the do not call list. Is there anything I can do?
Yes, Susan. Since your number is on the "do not call" registry, you can call the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint. They should give you a reference number to use if it happens again and you need to call back.
The toll-free number to file a complaint with the FTC is 1 877 382-4357.
Great answer Nash. I have always wondered what I could do, and will take that number down too. I will also email that to all the people on my email list. More people need to know, so people can put a stop to all this phone harrasment.
