The best course of action to take with the scammer calls is to find out what telephone service they use and report Fraud/Abuse to them directly. It can be found online usually.
The Do Not Call Registry is a fraud and a waste of taxpayer's money. If they actually DID anything to stop these calls to the public there would be a decrease in them, NOT AN INCREASE!!
I gave up on getting on a list or telling someone "Do not call". If you don't answer these calls, they will go away eventually. I know it is annoying and intrusive, but unless I know the name on the CID, I don't answer and eventually these calls stop.
Rec'd a call from this number with the ID: CUSTOMER HELP.
When I answered I heard this recorded message: "This is the last time we are going to contact you before we close our file on your account. We have sent you several offers in the mail showing you how you can reduce the interest rate on your credit cards ..." yada, yada, yada ... at this point I hung up!
Btw, I've rec'd nothing in the mail from anyone on this subject, which is just as well since I have NO CREDIT CARDS!
Received a call from this number a few minutes ago. Caller ID says customer help. The phone rang 2 times, I answered, no response and they hung up. I'm also on the Do Not Call government list, but that doesn't seem to matter to the callers, usually robo-calls.
