I got a message claiming something about tax fraud and being arrested. I called back and a women answered with an accent, asked if my phone number was the number called and wanted me to give her my name. I said you called me, I'm not comfortable giving you my personal information over the phone. Her response was calm down ma'am and hung up.
They leave a prerecorded message on your voice mail stating that they are calling from the IRS . Claiming that you have been named in some type of fraud and might require legal assistance, or face possible arrest........ The IRS issued a warning around tax time about this scam, it was primarily targeting the elderly......
they left a message stating they are the United States Treasury and to call regarding tax fraud before arrested. I called back, stated he was Kevin from the United States Treasury. He asked for my name in a middle eastern accent. I told him there was no way this is legit, he said ok thank you and hung up.
