I got a message claiming something about tax fraud and being arrested. I called back and a women answered with an accent, asked if my phone number was the number called and wanted me to give her my name. I said you called me, I'm not comfortable giving you my personal information over the phone. Her response was calm down ma'am and hung up.
Interestingly, they don't actually say they are from the IRS. The recording says "Internal Revenue Services" and the language where you think they are going to say IRS is intentionally garbled and comes out more like IIS so they are trying to skirt false representation ...
He is claiming that he is an officer of an I R S that I will be arrested if I don't return their call due to fraudulent claim under my name this is my second call the first one came from New Jersey this one from Modesto California
I received a phone message that I had a warrant for my arrest for tax fraud from 2012 and that I owed 4k in back taxes and that an officer was on their way to arrest me if I didn't pay at least 50% right now. The original call was from 206-209-1032 and when I asked them to email me something that showed this was legit and he told me to call 209-683-1344 and say I talked to Danny Rogers. This was the second person I talked to. The first guy I couldn't understand and asked that he transfer me to someone that I could understand better. He then disconnected the call. When I called back the second time I got Danny Rogers.
Claimed US Dept of Treasury, gave name and ID number. I told her I was an FBI agent and she hung up quickly. I knew it was a boiler room operation because of all the back ground noise.
