Same MO as those below but this operator was a bit dumber that some of those described below. I asked who she got my number from and she said the resource department. I then told her that it was the resource department that tried to infect my computer last week and asked why she wanted to help me with something that her company caused,,, the phone went silent and then she asked what number tried to infect my computer - - - duh! She offered to hang up and I suggested that was to her advantage.

I made the biggest mistake in my life and opened my computer to the guy who introduced himself as the technical support from Windows. I was on the phone with him for almost half an hour and typed different commands. I believe he got full access to my computer. I close my bank accounts and reported fraud alert to Experian, cancelled my credit cards.
"Jack" with a heavy accent called introducing himself as a Windows technician, saying my computer had viruses. I knew this was a scam. I played along, asking what kind of viruses or which computer, getting bogus answers. I told them so, and asked for their phone number. "Jack"gave me 209-753-4599.
